Delegate Sales

The Delegate Sales team is responsible for securing high quality paying attendees of Hanson Wade events within a variety of sectors whilst obtaining market feedback and industry insight to inform present and future projects.

Our team is split into the following roles

DA Executive
Delivers high quality paying delegates for Hanson Wade by explaining how our conferences can accelerate their business and personal objectives. Works on a range of events with various organisations within different industries and topic areas. Responsible for providing valuable and sales related feedback to project teams whilst attaining daily/weekly KPIs.
DA Manager
Senior delegate sales position working on Hanson Wade’s biggest assets. Has a greater level of autonomy, making use of account management skill to successfully secure delegates. Provides insight to event project teams, as well as contributing to cross functional projects.
Senior DA Manager
A senior figure within the team, responsible for consistently delivering strong commercial results through seamless execution of the sales process. Acts as mentor/coach to newer sales reps, alongside contributing to departmental training. Will play a key role within an event portfolio and advise management on how to optimise future projects.
DA Team Leader
Secures delegates on large scale events alongside managing a small team of delegate sales reps. Equips direct reports with the skill and direction to move through our Sales Progression Scheme (SPS). Contributes to departmental training as well as the recruitment and induction processes.
Sales Manager
Non-selling manager that has a larger team of sales reps or a combination of salespeople and team leaders. Responsible for the progression of their team through the SPS and into other departments. Manages the training and development of the department, including induction training, hiring, and scheduling. Contributes to wider business growth through cross functional work and sales performance feedback to functional heads.

Florence Perkins - Senior Delegate Acquisition Manager

I joined Hanson Wade having Graduated from Cardiff University in the summer of 2019, having taken part in their Assessment Day earlier in the year I joined in September alongside a number of other graduates. We had three excellent weeks of training where I learnt the whole sales process and was introduced to working life at Hanson wade. I am extremely grateful for my first couple of week as I  learnt many valuable skills for the role.

After a couple of months, with constant training and support from my manager and mentor I began the stage of the fast-track sales progression scheme. The progression scheme is designed to test your ability to not only hit your monthly targets but to develop a strong understanding of the portfolio you are on and build up your own brand within Hanson wade.

I have been lucky enough to work on some of the biggest life science portfolio’s that Hanson Wade produce. This has given me a great sense of independence and responsibility especially over the last year when we made the switch to Digital Events due to COVID. Personally, I wish to progress and strive towards a management role and feel that management is helping me achieve this, step by step.

I thoroughly enjoy the dynamic and fast pace nature of working within Hanson Wade’s Sale’s team and feel incredibly lucky to be part of a successful team that really rewards and recognises people for their hard work and success. The opportunity that Hanson Wade creates is unlike any other company I know of. The time it takes to pass probation and progress into a managing role is amazing and something that is very important to me and the company’s culture. I’m excited to see what the future ahead entails at Hanson Wade. 

Marcus Levitt - Sales Manager

I joined Hanson Wade in 2016 and I’ve witnessed the rapid growth of the organisation first hand, including the primitive act of knocking down walls and meeting rooms to make space for the influx of new employees. Now working from home with the aim to get back into London soon, our events have withstood the test of the pandemic due to a seamless transition to virtual meetings and still we continue to grow.

An integral cog in the Hanson Wade growth machine comes down to the delegate sales team. Here we are the eyes and ears of the business, seeking relevant individuals to join us at our meetings, covering a broad spectrum of industries. Predominantly our meetings are held within the life science sector and on a daily basis we speak to senior members within academia, pharma and biotech to understand their research needs and establish value in the content we’re hosting.

With rapid company growth, comes a multitude of opportunities.  During my near five years of service I have moved from an on the phone sales representative to now being off the phone team manager.

Hanson Wade has given me the tools and skills to shape and develop my sales team.  It’s a hugely rewarding role, and can often be tough.  However, I feel I’ve been able to thrive due to the culture of support and encouragement.    

Liam Higginbottom - Team Manager

I joined Hanson Wade in September 2018 as a Delegate Acquisition Executive after graduating in Politics & International Relations. This was a really exciting time of growth and opportunity within the business which meant I was able to transition into a management role as a Team Leader after 12 months in DA. I’ve also had other great opportunities at Hanson Wade such as traveling to Texas earlier this year for our Advancing Prefabrication Conference where we welcomed 800+ attendees.

In my first year I was fortunate to work across a range of event portfolios including Automotive, Finance, Construction, Oil & Gas and Life Sciences. This meant I was able to quickly learn the necessary skills to help develop my career in sales while slowly being exposed to more of a mentoring role which ultimately lead to my current role as a Team Leader. Being a TL in DA is a great opportunity to play a crucial role in the development and coaching of those on my team and our department while also picking up management skills I can leverage throughout my career.

The past year and a half have flown by which is no surprise as it’s such a fast-paced and engaging role and with the continued growth in both DA and Hanson Wade its an exciting time to be part of our company.
